AAMI Student Handbook
The AAMI Student Handbook serves as an essential guide for understanding the expectations, history, and operations of our institution. Founded in 1890 by Dr. John McAllister, originally known as the New York School of Pathology and Operative Surgery, AAMI grew into a prestigious provider of funeral service education following its merger with the American Academy of Embalming and Mortuary Research in 1964.
The handbook thoroughly covers essential topics, including AAMI’s accreditation by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE), mission, and core values such as Trust, Mutual Respect, Concern for Others, Shared Responsibility, and Community.
Students will also find clearly defined academic goals, expected program outcomes, detailed campus information, and thorough information on financial aid policies to assist them throughout their educational path.

AAMI Conduct & Policies
AAMI maintains clear and detailed guidelines to uphold an atmosphere of professionalism, respect, integrity, and academic excellence. Students attending AAMI agree to adhere to policies that address academic integrity, ethical conduct, attendance, behavioral standards, and compliance with federal and institutional regulations.
AAMI’s conduct guidelines establish expectations that create a respectful, safe, and positive learning environment, preparing students for professional roles within the funeral service industry. Detailed policy information is available through the dedicated Conduct and Policies page, linked below.

Student Support Center
Students can access customized help from AAMI’s online support center, which has been built from the ground up to address all of their specific academic and administrative questions. Students seeking technical assistance, academic advising, or general inquiries will find timely and effective responses to all of their queries.
Designed to provide solutions efficiently, the online support center serves as a centralized resource, connecting students directly to knowledgeable advisors and technical support professionals. The goal of this external resource is to maintain student engagement, encourage further academic progression, and improve the overall educational experience.
Order Books Online
