AAMI offers clear pathways for students to return to their studies following a voluntary withdrawal, academic dismissal, or extended period of non-attendance.
We recognize that students may step away from their education for a variety of reasons and we’re committed to helping you rejoin the program with clarity and support.
Whether you left in good standing or are returning after a required break in enrollment, the reinstatement process is designed to provide structure, assess academic readiness, and outline any requirements needed to move forward.
Reinstatement For Students In Good Standing
Students who previously withdrew while in Good Academic Standing may apply for reinstatement at any time.
- There is no limit to the number of reinstatement applications for students in good standing
- Students must comply with AAMI’s policies on degree completion
- Approval is required from the Director of Student Services
Reinstatement After Dismissal (Academic or Attendance)
Students who were dismissed for academic performance or non-attendance must sit out for at least one semester before applying for reinstatement.
Requirements:
- Submit a completed Reinstatement Application
- Include a written essay outlining the steps you plan to take to achieve academic success
- Settle all outstanding financial or administrative obligations to AAMI before being considered
Reinstatement Of Financial Aid
If you previously lost eligibility for federal financial aid due to not meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and did not file or win an appeal, you may be reevaluated after completing a future semester.
To regain eligibility:
- New FAFSA must be submitted & processed for the award year
- You must meet SAP standards (GPA, pace, and time frame)
- You must request a SAP re-evaluation from the Financial Aid Office
If approved, aid will resume for the following term. Note that federal aid cannot be applied retroactively for the term(s) during which you were ineligible.
