At AAMI, tuition is calculated with the expectation that students will complete their program from start to finish. Tuition planning supports academic continuity and allows us to allocate resources that benefit all students.
However, we understand that unexpected circumstances, such as personal, financial, or health-related challenges, may require a student to withdraw before completing a term.
This page outlines AAMI’s institutional tuition refund policy, including how adjustments are calculated based on your official withdrawal date and academic progress at the time of exit. Our goal is to ensure transparency and fairness throughout the process.
General Refund Policy
No tuition refunds will be granted for withdrawal or dismissal without prior approval from AAMI’s administration and the settlement of all outstanding financial obligations.
Students who choose to withdraw must:
- Submit a signed and dated letter of withdrawal to the administration
- The withdrawal becomes effective on the date the letter is received
- Students who stop attending without official notice will be considered withdrawn 30 days after their last date of attendance
Tuition Refund Schedule (Per Semester)
Withdrawal Timeframe | Tuition Refund |
---|---|
Before the first day of class | 100% |
During 1st week | 75% |
During 2nd week | 50% |
During 3rd week | 25% |
During 4th week | 15% |
After 4th week | No refund |
Title IV (Federal Financial Aid) Refund Policy
If you are a first-time student who received federal Title IV aid (e.g., Pell Grant, Direct Loans) and withdraw before completing 60% of the semester, your refund will be calculated on a pro-rata basis in accordance with federal guidelines.
This ensures that unearned aid is returned to the appropriate federal programs.
