Pursuing a career in funeral service starts with taking the first step, and applying to the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service (AAMI) is a straightforward process.
Whether you’re a first-time college student, a military service member, or an international applicant, we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
This page outlines everything you need to know to submit your application, including program eligibility, tuition expectations, and specialized resources for specific applicant groups.
Start by entering your basic personal details, including your name, date of birth, and email. You’ll also create a secure PIN to access your application.
Provide your academic background, contact details, and program intent. Be sure to fill in all required fields for timely processing.
Once you’ve completed the initial fields, click “Submit” to move your application forward. This saves your progress in the secure system and begins the formal review process.
If you need extra time, you can log back in at any point to continue. Simply return to the application portal using your email and password to pick up right where you left off.
Providing complete and accurate information ensures your application can be processed without delay.
After reviewing your responses, select “Submit Application” to finalize. You’ll receive confirmation that your materials have been successfully received by AAMI. From there, our admissions team will begin the review process.
International Applicants
If you currently reside outside the United States, there are additional steps required for admission. AAMI proudly welcomes international students and provides a clear process for obtaining an F-1 visa, submitting required documentation, and preparing to study in the U.S.
Our International Applicants page outlines everything from the Form I-20 process to proof of financial support, English language proficiency, transcript requirements, and more.

Military & Veteran Applicants
AAMI is proud to support active-duty service members, veterans, and military-connected applicants. We are approved to participate in GI Bill® programs and work closely with students using Chapter 30, Chapter 33, Chapter 35, and other benefit types.
If you’re a service member or veteran, our Military & Veteran Applicants page outlines the documents you’ll need, how to coordinate with the VA, and how military benefits can apply toward your education.
Types Of Financial Aid Available At AAMI
AAMI participates in several federal financial aid programs to help eligible students cover the cost of their education. From Pell Grants and Direct Loans to military benefits and scholarships, our Financial Aid Office works closely with students to identify available options.
AAMI Tuition & Fees
Understanding the financial investment in your education is a key part of preparing for success. AAMI’s Tuition & Fees page provides a full breakdown of tuition by semester, estimated total program cost, additional fees, and payment expectations.
We’re committed to transparency and providing all the financial details you need before enrolling.
